SoCalist Says:

Among the most well-known landmarks in 🌟 Los Angles, the 🔭 Griffith Observatory opened in 1935 and is owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles.

Located in on Mount Hollywood in Griffith Park, the Observatory offers a planetarium, exhibits, public telescopes, cafe, bookstore, and the best views of the Los Angeles basin.

🌇 For those desiring one of the most breathtaking sunset experiences of their lives, it also offers unobstructed views of DTLA, the Pacific Ocean and the world-famous Hollywood Sign.

🎟 Admission is free, and visitors may drive directly to the Observatory and park in its lots and roads.

⏰ The observatory is closed on Mondays and open from noon-10pm the rest of the week, and 10am to 10pm on weekends.

🏆 The observatory was featured in two major sequences of the James Dean film Rebel Without a Cause (1955), which helped to make it an international emblem of Los Angeles. You can see a bust of Dean in the observatory’s west grounds. The Griffith Observatory has appeared in dozens of

📽 films and 📺 TV shows, which has lent to it’s being one of 💙Southern California’s most iconic destinations, and for us, the experience of the Observatory will more than fulfill the imagery it’s cinematic stardom inspires.
